Kelly Rowland isn’t expecting twins, but she is getting ready to take care of two baby boys.
The mom-to-be joked that the son she is expecting with husband Tim Weatherspoon isn’t the only one on the way.
“When the baby gets here, it’s not just one baby. I have two babies now,” Rowland told PEOPLE at the reveal of her namesake canteen bracelet timepiece from TW Steel in Beverly Hills. “My husband and the baby — you have to take care of both.”
But until the couple welcome their first child, it’s Weatherspoon who is doting on the pregnant singer — especially when it comes to her “crazy” craving for chocolate ice cream and peanut butter.
“I literally have a scoop, one scoop of chocolate ice cream and a teaspoon of peanut butter, and mix it all together,” she shares. “If I’m in the bed and I just really don’t feel like getting up, then he has been really wonderful at getting up and getting it for me.”

Rowland is giving her fans good glimpses of her baby belly by sharing snapshots of her workout routine on social media. But despite filling her Instagram feed with fitness photos, she insists she’s done her fair share of splurging.
“I feel wonderful. I think training is one of the best things that could ever happen to a woman while she’s pregnant,” Rowland says. “Yes, we have the green light to go when it comes to food and diet, but I just really think you give your body the foods that it needs.”
She adds with a laugh, “I do the 80/20 rule on my off season. And then I think with this one, I was like, ‘I’m going to have to push it to about 70/30, 60/40,’ because some things just sound so good when you’re pregnant.”
Since discovering she was expecting a baby, the singer has focused on maintaining a “very peaceful, happy pregnancy,” and hopes to carry on her happiness into her son’s childhood.
“You really have to take it one day at a time because everything can be so overwhelming. One thought trickles into another and you want to make sure that you’re not overwhelming yourself,” she says. “I don’t want no cortisol levels going up. I just want to keep it very serene and calm for myself — and definitely for the baby — because that’s the kind of environment I’d want to bring him up in.”
And it’s paying off in a big way: Rowland has been busy working on new music in the studio. “It’s been really exciting because I feel like I’m getting some inspiration from the baby, from life, from just being happy,” she shares.
“I’m so happy and I just really want that to come across in the music. I feel like as people we go through so much every day that it’s okay to be happy on records and it’s okay to talk about your journey to happiness.”
In addition to her music, Rowland has been collaborating with TW Steel to create a collection of custom watches.
“I feel like my watch really turns up my ensemble,” she says. “I feel like it’s not just about time as much as it is about style as well.”
And while her line with the brand began with the launch of two color variations — pink and blue — she’s eying her latest design, the special edition black version, for someone special.
“I just need TW Steel to make my baby a little watch,” she jokes. “I want him to have [the black one]. It’s just super fly.”
As for how quickly she’ll bounce back after baby? Rowland is planning on going with the flow — but admits the six-week rule might be a little too much.
“That’s a long time to be still, but of course I’m going to know when I need to just chill,” she explains. “I’m going to listen to my baby. I’m going to listen to myself, listen to my husband [and] just be smart.”
